Among many things, one of the most popular destinations in Cape Town is the V & A Waterfront. It's a prime source of entertainment and shopping for both locals and visitors. It hosts hundreds of specialty and craft shops, a variety of cinemas and helicopter trips. One of the main attractions at the V & A are the trips on board sophisticated ferry services across to the Robben Island Museum to visit Nelson Mandela's prison cell.

Cape Town has a very moderate Mediterranean climate with cool wet winters (2 - 25°C June to August) and hot dry summers (10 - 38°C October to March).

Summer falls between November and January, Autumn between February and May, Winter between May and July and Spring between August and October.
Three major winds affect our climate - the summer "South Easter", the winter "North Wester", and the hot dry "Bergwind" which blows down from Namibia.
